Watch What You Say

Proverbs 15:4

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Have you ever felt like telling your Mom or dad to "Bug off!" and leave you alone? Or maybe your little sister or brother has broken your favorite toy and the only thing you could think of doing is calling them a mean name.

The words you say can lead to you doing things that won't be good for your life. It's hard to stop yourself sometimes, but it's a good idea to think before you say things. Even if you're feeling very angry, be careful about what you say to others. Sometimes you might have to leave the room, or find something else to do (like play a game on
the computer or draw a picture).

Also, try to say good things to people when you can. Say things that can help your friends feel good about themselves. Say things that will help your brothers and sisters feel nice. Make your mouth a "Good Words Machine" whenever you can.
